Tried out my new Cicadas fly pattern yesterday just see how it casts floats and lays on the water. From fish eye view it looks great. Just the right weight and profile easy to cast with a 5wt with straight floating line. Weight forward will carry a little more distance then I was getting. Overall I can't wait to use this once the 2021 Cicadas hatch ramps up.

Fishing hurts and I have been in Hatteras for the past week TRYING to get anything to bite. The weather has been working against us with high NE winds, 6 straight days of sideways rain and cold. Yesterday was the first day with sun and wind shift out of the SW which is typically good for the Drum bite. We tried all the usual hotspots with fresh menhaden 55, 44, 43 and south side of Cape Point last hour up until dark and we still had all the bait we started with nothing touched it. Were back to cold north wind again today but at least there's sun... I hope to give it a try again tomorrow.
