Big Blue Cats - a friend of mine caught this 39 incher on Monday near the flats he said it weighed around 40 lbs.
Went over the Conowingo Dam last evening and they were down to 1 spill gate hopefully that's it and we can get back on the river next week.
Drove over the Conowingo Dam last night and they had only 7 spill gates open. Seems like the river has crested and they are ramping down.
Drove over the Conowingo Dam yesterday and they had 20 spill gates open... Susquehanna River is a mess!

It was nice seeing a fellow zooer in person. Did you get any bites after I left Mike? No bites for me again tried white and chartreuse gulps and the perch x-rap. The stretch of beach I usually fish was fairly crowded and I only saw one fish come up.
BLUE CATFISH - While I was walleye fishing Liquid was fishing down river for blue cats and had some good action. With the striped bass pretty much gone for the winter these big cats are loads of fun to catch all through the winter and good eating too. No limit keep all you catch.

I managed to catch one and lost another both on the x-rap perch color. When I didn't catch a second fish I released the first one since he was just 15" If I look cold it's because I am! Show more

I got really excited when I started fishing as I kept feeling what I thought were hits but was actually sleet hitting my braid. Anyway it was very cold and windy. The water was so clear I did see at least one walleye following my lure but no takers. There was one other guy crazy enough to be out fishing and he did get 1 keeper. I was switching between a fire tiger and x-rap silver and olive he was using small white soft plastic... didn't have any or I would have switched. Show more

On the troll with x-raps mostly we brought at least a dozen rockfish all keeper size to the boat and of course released them all with the striped bass keeper season ending on Thursday the 10th. We also caught a 20" Smallmouth and a few walleye all on the troll. Biggest surprise of all was Tylers high 20s Musky also caught on the troll. We got it to the boat with just one hook barely hanging on and I missed 3 tries with the net only to watched it swim off. Great couple of days and maybe the last of the rockfish for this year with the winter cold and snow moving in this week. Show more

Tyler and I fished in the rain on Friday and also had a fun time with the striped bass. We brought about 6 or 7 to hand and lost a few as well and one Walleye on the troll. We caught them mostly trolling with x-raps caught one on the fly and one on top water. All were released. Water temp was 49, river clarity was not great but plenty fishable. Show more

Water was stained but very fishable, Conowingo dam flow was 42,000 cfs. There were a couple of other anglers within my `view but I didn’t notice if they caught any. Show more
