I managed to fall out of the raft about 20 minutes into a 9 hour float. I went all the way under, broke a Shimano rod, dried off, put on a new shirt and finished the float. We didnt take many pictures. Mark caught both of these but this is what we all caught. I had one decent smallie that I should have taken a picture of. Mark out fished us as usual. Show more

I caught a couple little smallies and had a surprise when I jokingly casted a Keitech to a carp that was sitting in the mouth of deer creek in about a foot of gin clear water and it ate it. One gate was open at 3500 cfs. The water was still very warm and gin clear. Show more

Brian is a top notch fly guide who targets smallies. We were not disappointed. Despite low, warm, gin clear water Brian put us on fish. I took my friend Scott and it was his first guided trip. Judging by the picture I think Scott had a good time. As a bonus I bought Brians pristine Sage X 9 foot 7 weight and this thing is an absolute bomber. Show more
Cooler weather cant get here fast enough. I have booked a float trip for 9/10 on the Susky with Brian Shumaker. Should be a good time.

It is a joy to watch him succumb to the addiction. I have never seen a kid pick up fly casting as fast as he has. I took him last Thursday and we experienced low, warm, slow water. It was a nice break from wet wading Deer Creek for chubs, bluegills and micro smallies. No fish to report but the evening was nice. Chris is hooked for life, I am going to have him join the Zoo. Less fish than I am used to. A couple steelheads and some browns. I did manage my PB brown trout on the trip. I didnt weigh it. Im guessing 10-11. Show more

One person is dead following an early morning crash Tuesday morning at Conowingo Dam, Maryland State Police said.
Fishing has been limited. Twenty two years ago today I got married. You can tell by the second photo that I married well.

Lots of smallies and a couple rainbows and a brown. Started slow, everyone we talked to was struggling. The water was kinda clear and a little low so everyone was fishing small baits. I tied on a big Shadow Rap and started hooking up. You never know what they want until you try. It was really, really cool and a bit frustrating to see a big (looked to be 20" or so) brown trout take a swipe at my lure and then swipe my brother in laws plastic swim bait. Show more
