Spent the week in hatteras last week and only fished 2 days one day at the point and one day on Oregon Inlet. Caught a bluefish blitz at the point. It was every cast and everyone was catching. Kind of a madhouse with treble hooks being flung in all directions. Saw one guy try to yank his blue fish up on the beach and ripped the treble hook out and right into his leg...ugh! It was a fun day but you really have to watch your back, front and both sides during the excitement. You will notice in the center left of this photo a Spinner Shark airing out. They were everywhere eating the blues.

Fished the river yesterday. Water color looks fairly good. Water temp 66-67. No bird or bait activity. Managed 2 fish 16&17” . Is it still too warm... Show more

Just got back for fishing and spearfishing on Block Island RI. Great trip loads of Tautog, some Triggers, Sea Bass and the clamming was outstanding. Curiously NO STRIPERS! This place is normally the Striped Bass capital for the North Atlantic. Tyler and I each only had one good hit on plugs but that was it for the week. We threw everything in the box at all the hot-spots around the island. Now wondering if the river has cleaned up from Ida and ready to starting targeting local rockfish for the fall run... anyone been out?
Frogman Might get out this weekend. More rain coming… 3 months ago

Went out this past Thursday morning 6-9 am before work. Water temp was 81F and fairly clean 5-6 feet of vis. River was very low so I ran to the flats. Tried everything in the box even soft plastic on the channel edges without a bite. Ran back up river which was mirror calm and no sign of life anywhere. No bait, no birds, no boils or surface strikes scanning acres of water?

Fished yesterday (wednesday) morning before work. Since I only had a few hours I stayed up river near the ramp rather than running to the flats. Surprised to see the Susquehanna being so dirty with so little rain this past week here. Only about 2-3' of vis. Started on the Harford side thinking it might be cleaner over there with Deer Creek and it was only a little cleaner, however no bites or boils on the top and tried hard and soft plastic and flies without a tug. Jumped to the Cecil side and it was very VERY slow but I managed to get a few boils on the popper and finally a keeper (released) before I had to run to work. Water temp 79 pretty low for this time of year i think??
Frogman Nice fish! Yes that is below average water temp for this time of year. A good bit of rain upstate Pa into NY followed by numerous nights in the 50s. It is back in the low 80s and will most likely be mid 80s by the weekend. 4 months ago
